Obituary for Karen A. Keating (Keeney)

Karen A. (Keeney) Keating, 70, of Albrightsville, passed away Sunday, March 6 at home.

She was the loving wife of Stephen J. Keating. They celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary in May of last year.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John Keeney and the late Hilda (Marschner) Keeney.

Karen was a gym coach for Liberty Bell Gymnastics for twelve years. She also worked as a reservationist at Split Rock Resort for over twenty years. She graduated from Little Flower Catholic High School in Philadelphia in 1969. She always loved and enjoyed camping at Ocean View Campground and visiting the beach every year. She was also a rollercoaster fanatic. Most of all, she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Stephen J. Keating II of Hatboro, PA; two daughters, Stephanie Laygo and her husband Dr. Roel of Pooler, GA, Erin Lynn Ott and her husband Chris of Millmont, PA; a brother, John Keeney Jr. of DE; and thirteen grandchildren, Paige, Logan, London, Haley, Kaelyn, CJ, Wyatt, Josh, Tina, Gabby, Nate, Elena, and Mia.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 11 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. A Mass of Christian Burial with be celebrated on March 11 at 10:30 AM at St. Peter The Fisherman Catholic Church in Lake Harmony, with Rev. Francis Baransky as celebrant. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
