Obituary for Leroy C. Cassidy

Leroy C. Cassidy, 89, of Sciota, formerly of New Castle, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 23 at home.

He was the loving husband of Bertha L. (Thomas) Cassidy. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in June.

Born in New Castle, he was the son of the late Mont Carl Cassidy and the late Mary (Moltz) Cassidy.

Leroy was a lifelong resident of New Castle, PA before he relocated with his wife to Monroe County in 2010. He was a millwright in the maintenance department for Youngstown Sheet & Tube in Youngstown, OH for thirty two years. He also had a passion and interest for farming. He had a compassion for animals, and is survived by his beloved dog, Sugar. Most of all, he was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all of his friends and family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Carl Cassidy and his wife Terri of Spring Mills, Craig Cassidy and his wife Karen of Sciota; two grandchildren, Anson and Elise Cassidy; 1 brother and two sisters. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 1 at 1:00 PM from the Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville with Rev. Ann Melot officiating.
