Obituary for Mae M. Borger (Lobach)

Mae M. Borger, 94, of Kunkletown, passed away on Friday, December 17 in her home.

She was the wife of the late Calvin L. Borger.

Born in Little Gap, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Miriam (Hawk) Lobach.

A 1945 graduate of Polk Township High School, Mae worked at Scotty's Fashions in Little Gap for thirty five years, retiring in 1989.

She was an active member of St. Matthew's United Church of Christ in Kunkletown along with the Laymen's Fellowship at the church. She was also a member of the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Co. and the Fire Co. Auxiliary of which she was president for many years, the Eldred Township Historical Society and the Polk Township Alumni Association.

Mae enjoyed needlepoint, sewing and playing cards. She loved to bake and to take pictures. In fact, she took so many pictures, people affectionately referred to her as Mancus. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by three daughters, Romaine Miller, Marlette Palermo and her husband Tony and Dora Tartar and her husband Brian, all of Kunkletown; five grandchildren, Ricky Miller, Timmy Miller, Terri Ann Dorshimer, Jamie Miller and Anthony Palermo II; six great grandchildren, Amanda Miller Serfass, Daria Kleintop, Jamie Lee Miller, Karrie Palermo, Kaila Palermo and Jeremy Smith and eight great great grandchildren, Wyatt Kleintop, Cole Kleintop, Arianna Palermo, Stanley Williams, Brandon Williams, Cameron Williams, Laila Sharp and Jeremy Smith. IN addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Michelle Gussett and Leslie Miller.

A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date. Mae will be interred in St. Matthew's Cemetery in Kunkletown.
