Obituary for Marilyn S. Kreger (Stokke)

Marilyn S. Kreger, 82, of Gilbert, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, surrounded by her family, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono in East Stroudsburg.

She was the loving wife of Richard L. Kreger. They had observed their 60th wedding anniversary in February.

Born in La Crosse, WI, she was a daughter of the late Carroll H. and Adelee (Beacom) Stokke.

Marilyn worked for Family Practice Associates in Brodheadsville for many years. Later, she worked as a transcriptionist for Medical Associates of Monroe County in East Stroudsburg and at the Fort Pierce Hospital in Florida.

She enjoyed knitting and painting. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. She was deeply grateful for her caregivers the past two years, Shirley Rodenbach and Janet Fisher, whom she loved.

She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Gilbert.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Meinhart and her husband Brad of Bowmanstown, Laura Kresge and her husband Tom of Gilbert and Leah Rohrbach and her husband Scott of Gilbert; a sister, Coralee Hester in Texas; five grandchildren, Sarah Adams and her husband Dan of Gilbert; Thomas C.. Kresge and his wife Taryn of Brodheadsville, Emelie Meinhart of Allentown, Jacob Rohrbach of Gilbert and Abigail Rohrbach of Gilbert; two great grandchildren, Adelee and Matthew Adams and her sister-in-law, Kay Chain.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in Salem United Church of Christ in Gilbert followed by memorial services at 11:00 AM with Rev. Randy Lentz officiating. Interment will be in Gilbert Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lehigh Valley Hospice-Pocono, 502 VNA Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.

The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, is in charge of arrangements.
