Obituary for Marvin T. "Snapper" Borger

Marvin T. "Snapper" Borger, 84, of Kunkletown, passed away Tuesday, March 29 in St. Luke's Hospital-Carbon Campus.

He was the loving husband of Barbara (Borger) Borger. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in February.

Born in Kunkletown, he was the son of the late Tilghman Borger and the late Helen (Diehl) Borger.

He was an US Army veteran in the artillery division from 1960 to 1962, and was a member of Jerusalem UCC in Trachsville.

Snapper was a steel worker at Bethlehem Steel for 27 years before retiring in 1992. Prior to that, he worked at the toy factory in Pen Argyl for several years. He was a member of the Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club, the Indian Mountain Rod & Gun Club, and the Kunkletown Fire Co. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Chris and his wife Victoria; three grandchildren, Zachary, Ryan, Addison; and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his five brothers, Clair, Leon, Paul, Lloyd, Kermit, and two sisters, Irene and Jean.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 4 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Don Quayle officiating. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
