Obituary for Mary L. Koons (Harris)
Mary L. Koons, 80, of Kunkletown, passed away Sunday, August 11 in her home.
She was the loving wife of the late Paul A. Koons. They celebrated 15 years of marriage together before his passing in 2000.
Born in Doylestown, she was the daughter of the late James R. Harris and the late Mary (Dreaver) Harris.
Mary was an office manager at Dr. Smith's office in Stroudsburg for over fifteen years. Prior to that, she worked in human resources at Gas Spring Co. in Colmar, PA for many years. She will be deeply missed by all of her friends and family.
She is survived by two sons, Gregory Schwartz and his wife Connie of Savannah, GA, Frank Schwartz and his wife Lynn of White Haven; two daughters, Marlene Spotts of East Greenville, PA, Teresa Phillips and her husband Joseph of Red Hill, PA; a sister, Patricia Lewis and her husband David of East Stroudsburg; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren; six nephews and one niece; and her much loved cats. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Mark Schwartz, a grandson, Gregory Schwartz, and a brother, James Harris Jr.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM with Rev. David Felker officiating. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
