Obituary for Mary J. Smale (Brands)
Mary J. Smale, 82, of Kunkletown, passed away on Wednesday, October 27 in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono.
She was the wife of the late Layton Smale.
Born in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Mabus) Brands.
Mary had worked as a seamstress in various area garment mills for forty five years before retiring in 2004.
She was a member of Jerusalem United Church of Christ in Trachsville.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Lori Halloran of Stroudsburg; two sons, Donald Smale and Kevin Smale, both of Kunkletown; a sister Barbara Ziegenfus of Saylorsburg; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Melone.
No services are planned at this time. Mary will be interred in Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery in Trachsville.
