Obituary for Neal D. Collenburg

Neal D. Collenburg, 80, of Saylorsburg, passed away Sunday, March 3, at St. Luke's Hospital-Carbon Campus.

He was the loving husband of Geraldine V. "Geri" (Kliemisch) Collenburg. They were married on August 22, 1976 and celebrated 47 wonderful years of marriage together.

Neal worked as a phone technician for over thirty years. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed his photography, and will always be remembered for his great bad-dad jokes. He was also an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. Most of all, he was a loving and caring husband, father, pappa, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.

In addition to his wife, Geri, he is survived by three sons, Neal Collenburg Jr., Andrew Collenburg and his wife Erin, Scott Collenburg; a daughter, Jerilyn Collenburg and her husband Trevor Hinkle; and three grandchildren, Theo, Emmett, and Sloane. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Sue Collenburg.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 6, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 7, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert.
