Obituary for Noel Joseph Coughlin Jr.
Noel J. "Joe" Coughlin Jr., 64, of Blakeslee, passed away Friday, July 28, at home.
He was the loving husband of Margie R. (Miller) Coughlin. They celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary in October of last year.
Born in Watertown, NY, he was the son of the late Noel J. Coughlin Sr. and the late Madeline (Kutzleb) Coughlin.
Noel attended State University of New York College at Cortland, NY, from 1977 to 1980. He then went on to Community College of the Air Force, receiving an Associate degree in Healthcare Administration. Later, he attended Wayland Baptist University and received a Bachelor degree in Health Care Administration. Joe began his career in in the US Air Force - Healthcare Information & Administration, from 1981 to 1994. He then worked as a site manager and senior engineer for all healthcare technology at SAIC, USAF Hospital, Patrick AFB, FL, until 1998. After, he worked as a senior technical analyst for Shands Healthcare at the University of Florida until 2005, where he moved on to working at Wed MD, Sage Software as an information engineer. He then worked for Kaiser Permanente as a senior systems analyst, and later was the senior systems engineer for Cerner World Healthcare. Despite his admirable career, he enjoyed bodybuilding, working on cars with his son, Seth, and spending time with his family. Most of all, he was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.
In addition to his wife Margie, he is survived by three sons, William Coughlin, Christian Coughlin, Seth Coughlin and his girlfriend, Kaylana; a brother, Martin "Scott" Coughlin; a sister, Elizabeth Daut and her husband Dave; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be scheduled on a later date at the convenience of the family. The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville, is in charge of the arrangements.
