Obituary for Patrick Joseph "PJ" Boyle Jr.
Patrick Joseph "PJ" Boyle Jr., 56, of Mt. Pocono, passed away Friday, September 13 in his home.
He was the loving husband of Velma Joy (Shepherd) Boyle. They were married on March 6th of this year.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of Marilyn (Ryan) Boyle of Jackson, NJ, and the late Patrick Joseph "Buddy" Boyle Sr.
PJ was the owner/operator of Rock Hard Masonry for many years. Later on in his life he started working for Mountain Taxi for several years. He then went on to start his own delivery business called PJ Deliveries, which later became Black & White Deliveries.
PJ was known as a true people person. He had a natural way of interacting with others. He knew everyone and always took the time to talk with them. He loved greeting others when he saw them, and he became known for always greeting others with a "meow". He loved life, and he had a great sense of humor. Other than his nickname PJ, he was referred by others as "rude dog" and/or "meow". He will be deeply missed by all his friends, family, and his beloved dogs, Cooper, LJ, and Buddy.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a stepdaughter, Carmen Santiago of Hughesville; a stepson, Carlos Santiago of Williamsport; three brothers, Jimmy Boyle (his favorite brother) and lover Jackie Mazzella of Albrightsville, Danny Boyle and his wife Jessica, John Boyle of Gainesville, VA; two sisters, Peggie Platzer of Jim Thorpe, Mar-Pat Plante and her husband Peter of Sterling, VA; nine nieces and nephews, Tara, Alex, Stevi, Shannon, Conal, Anthony, Jake, Tanner, Rowan; several cousins, aunts, uncles: and two great nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a nephew, James.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 21 at 1:00 PM from the Holiday Pocono Civic Association, 62 Holiday Drive, Albrightsville, PA 18210. A celebration of life service will follow at 1:30 PM.
