Obituary for Ralph C. Shook Jr.
Ralph C. Shook Jr., 77, of Saylorsburg, passed away on Saturday, September 30 in his home.
He was the loving husband of Gloria (Storm) Shook. They would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary inn December.
Born in Wilmington, NC, he was a son of the late Ralph C. Shook Sr. and the late Helen (Bost) Shook.
Ralph had worked in the textile industry for forty five years, thirty five years at Valerie Fashions in Wind Gap and another ten years at Majestic. He retired in 2011.
Ralph loved being in his garage fixing up cars. He enjoyed cooking and canning, but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Denise Borke and her husband Frank in Alabama, Tammy Kresge and her husband Donald of Reeders and Vicki Smith and her husband John Pratt of Reeders; a sister, Kay Ackerknecht of Bangor; six grandchildren, Joseph Walsh and his wife Stephanie, Jeanessa Walsh, Joshua Kresge and his wife Elizabeth, Eric Kresge, Kyle Smith and his wife Shania and Rhiley Pratt; four great grandchildren, Bella Kunsman, Hudson Smith, Violet Smith and Kayleigh Kunsman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Gray and Helen Orange.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, October 8 at 3:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. John Vidal officiating. There will be a visitation on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.
