Obituary for Reuben Counterman

Reuben Counterman, 66, of Lansford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 12 in his home.

He was the loving companion of Sharron Lamp for over thirty five years.

Born in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Grover Counterman and the late Sarah (Green) Counterman.

Reuben was a dishwasher at the former Seafood Shanty for several years in Allentown.

In addition to his companion, Sharron, he is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Counterman of Warren County; two brothers, Stewart Counterman and Albert Counterman, both of Lehighton; two sisters, Denise Smale of Bowmanstown, Diane Lowry of Palmerton; eight nieces, Kathy Mertz, Carrie, Tammy, Paula, Jen, Kate, Rachel, Desiree; five nephews, Keith, Stuart Jr., Joseph, Joe, Michael; and many great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his late wife, Colleen (Williams) Counterman, and three brothers, Walter Counterman, James Counterman, and Richard Counterman.

A viewing will be held on Monday, June 17 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Chaplain Scott Sobare officiating. Burial will follow in Dotters Corner Cemetery, Kunkletown.
