Obituary for Richard J. Kimmick

Richard J. Kimmick, 74, of Brodheadsville, passed away Monday, August 9 at home.

He was the loving husband of Shirley (Carlson) Kimmick. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in July.

Born in Plainfield, NJ, and growing up in Clark, NJ, he was the son of Edith M. (Tosh) Kimmick and the late John P. Kimmick.

Richard was a millwright at General Motors in Linden, NJ for thirty five years. He loved spending time with his family and traveling the country. He also was an avid cook. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran. Most of all, he was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all of his friends and family.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Rick Kimmick and his wife Leighann, Phillip Kimmick and his wife Kim; a daughter, Laura Mesce and her husband Angelo; a sister, Ann Kump; and seven grandchildren, Angelo Mesce IV, Ricky Kimmick, Luci Mesce, Rebecca Kimmick, P2 Kimmick, Ryan Kimmick, and Shaylee Kimmick.

Viewings will be held on Thursday, August 12 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, August 13 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Funeral services will follow on Friday, August 13 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Michael Quinnan officiating. Burial will follow in Green Ridge Cemetery, Brodheadsville.
