Obituary for Robert W. Kelsey
Robert W. Kelsey, 80, of Sciota, passed away Wednesday, September 11 in his son's home, surrounded by his family.
He was the loving husband of the late Carole Ann (Parker) Kelsey. They celebrated fifty two years of marriage together before her passing in 2015.
Born in Staten Island, NY, he was the son of the late Harry Kelsey and the late Celia (Lewis) Kelsey.
Robert was a manager for New York Telephone Co. for twenty eight years. He was a proud Navy Seabee Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert, and also a member and former District Governor of the Western Pocono Lions Club. In his younger years, he ran track in high school, and also received the rank of Eagle Scout is the Boy Scouts of America. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he thoroughly enjoyed and loved his hobby in Photography. He will be deeply missed by all of his friends and family.
He is survived by four sons, Robert Kelsey of Lackawaxen, Scott Kelsey and his wife Charing of Lexington, KY, Todd Kelsey and his wife Emily of Cornwall, NY, Craig Kelsey and his wife Christine of Effort; a brother, William Kelsey and his wife Colleen of Sciota; a sister, Karen Kelly of Staten Island, NY; thirteen grandchildren, Samantha, Tristan, Scott, Morgan, Zachary, Carter, Jessica, Rachel, Olivia, Sean, Brandon, Katie, Liam; and one great granddaughter, Dolly.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, September 15 at 3:00 PM from the American Legion Post 927, Gilbert, with Bishop James Mills officiating. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert's memory to the Western Pocono Lions Club, P.O. Box 191, Brodheadsville, PA 18322.
