Obituary for Ronald J. Kologe

Ronald J. Kologe, 80, of Gilbert, passed away Sunday, May 15 in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono.

He was the loving husband of Janet C. (Huzil) Kologe. They celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary in January.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late John Kologe and the late Jean (Borowski) Kologe.

Ronald graduated from Kings College in Wilkes-Barre with a Bachelor's in Accounting, and then received a Master's in Accounting from Lehigh University. He began working for Ernst & Ernst in Allentown. Later, he worked for Patterson-Kelley in East Stroudsburg as a chief financial officer for twenty years. He was a US Army Veteran and was part of The Big Red One during his service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert. Ronald loved reading, skiing, horse racing, poker, and sports. He enjoyed attending the US Open Tennis Championships in New York. Even at an older age, he enjoyed parasailing and white water rafting with his children. Most of all, he was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Danielle Kologe and her spouse Christine Hopkins of Buena Vista, VA, Alison Honey and her spouse Steve of Easton, Lauren Barefoot and her spouse Kevin of Greenbelt, MD; and a sister, Jeannie Skiro and her husband John of Plains, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Yastremski and her husband Joseph.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 20th from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 AM with Deacon Robert O'Connor officiating. Full military honors will follow the service at the funeral home. Burial of the cremated remains will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.
