Obituary for Ronald L. "Buzzy" Mackes Jr.
Ronald L. "Buzzy" Mackes Jr., 60, of Gilbert passed away on Monday, July 15 in his home.
Born in Palmerton, PA he was the son of Carolyn (Smith) Mackes of Gilbert and the late Ronald L. Mackes Sr.
Buzzy was a 1976 graduate of Pleasant Valley High School and a Marine Corp. veteran. He worked as a welder for J. & J. White for over thirty years, but Buzzy really was a jack of all trades, having also worked as a butcher, mason and plumber among other jobs. He would always be willing to help anyone that needed it.
He was a member of the International Boilermakers Union.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two children, Hannah Elizabeth Mackes and James Ronald Mackes, both of Tafton and their mother, Debra Daleo of Tafton; a sister, Terri Lynn Whitmyer of Andover, OH; two nieces, Lindsey Walters of Lebanon and Kristi Jones of Pen Argyl and various aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 10 at 1:00 PM from the Gilbert Cemetery with Rev. Deborah Scheffey officiating. Interment will follow.
The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, is in charge of arrangements.
