Obituary for Ruby M. Maganza (Mickus)

Ruby M. Maganza, 85, of Pocono Pines, passed away Wednesday, January 26 at home.

She was the loving wife of the late Leon M. Maganza. They celebrated 59 years of marriage together before his passing in 2015.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Peter Mickus and the late Ruby (Crummet) Klutch.

She was a member of Pocono Lake Wesleyan Church in Pocono Lake.

Ruby was a beloved homemaker and a bookkeeper for her husband's business, Greenpoint Truck Center, for many years. Leon and Ruby were married in New Mexico. They moved to Brooklyn, NY, where they resided for several years before eventually retiring to PA. She was an avid reader, crocheter, and a great debater. She also enjoyed church hymns, black & white movies, and loved her Toyota Tundra. She always looked forward to traveling with her husband, taking trips to Hawaii and Aruba. However, her favorite place to vacation was family week at Tuscarora Conference Center in Mount Bethel. She was very family oriented and loved and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her life verse was John 3:16. Most of all, she was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.

She is survived by a son, Leonard Maganza and his wife Deborah; four daughters, Lynn Mezzasalma and her husband John, Jean Mezzasalma and her husband Robert, Sherrie Argot and her husband Ronnie, Patricia Demarest and her husband Ed; twenty grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren, and one of the way. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Leon M. Maganza Jr., and a brother, Peter Mickus.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 4 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM from the Pocono Lake Wesleyan Church, 203 Spur Road, Pocono Lake, PA 18347. Church services will follow at 10:30 AM with Rev. Michael Voit officiating. Burial will be held on Monday, February 7 at 12:30 PM from the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
