Ruth C. (Hawk) Wildrick, 90, of Blakeslee, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 14.
She was the loving wife of the late Floyd A. "Jim" Wildrick. They celebrated 60 years of marriage together before Floyd's passing in 2016.
Born in Fern Ridge, she was the daughter of the late Peter Hawk and the late Kathryn (Aulenbach) Hawk.
Ruth was a lifelong and highly active member of the Blakeslee United Methodist Church. She was affiliated with the church's King's Daughters, and was the treasurer for many years. She was also a member of the GFWC Pocono Mountain Women's Club for several years. She loved to paint and enjoyed all different kinds of arts and crafting.
Ruth will be deeply missed by all of her remaining family and friends.
She is survived by two sisters, Betty Gross of Drums, Shirley Valenze of Blakeslee; three nephews, Matthew Valenze of Blakeslee, Scott Valenze of Canadensis, Jimmy Wildrick of White Haven; and her lifelong beloved friend, Elsie Gower of Gilbert. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Billy Hawk.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, May 18 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM from the Blakeslee United Methodist Church. A church service will follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Joseph Healey officiating. Burial will follow in Blakeslee Cemetery.
