Obituary for Sabrina Lynette Collins (Smith)

Sabrina Collins 68 passed away on March 25, 2024, from an unanticipated illness. Even though this illness took her from this world, her loving heart left a beacon of light for all those that knew her.
Born on January 28, 1956, in Bronx, New York to Pastor Barbara and Cleveland Smith. She attended Baruch college to study accounting and then started her career as a bookkeeper. She transitioned into opening her own Daycare called Heart to Heart. Because of Her loving and giving heart she opened her home to many foster children and cared for them as her own. Sabrina married John Willie Collins on June 8, 1974. She raised 2 sons, 1 daughter and fostered over 25 children.
Sabrina was an active member at Heart-to-Heart Tabernacle of Prayer in Far Rockaway for many years, she then attended Reaching Out for Jesus Ministries. The Lord led her to Mountaintop Ministries where was ordained as an Evangelist on September 24, 2023. This was a proud moment in her life and was overjoyed in fulfilling her role in the church

She lived in Rosedale Queens NY for 15 years, then moved to Mount Pocono in 1999 and was heavily involved in serving the Lord and working with disadvantaged children. In her spare time, she loved to decorate and bedazzle her home, her car and her dog Mimi. The more sparkle and shine it has the more she loved it. Sabrina had a big and bright personality and was known as someone who took pride in her appearance. Her hair nails and outfits were always so gorgeously put together. She was survived by Her greatest loves; her children Kishana Walters and her husband Floyd, Tarik Collins, Joshua Collins and of course her dog Mimi. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Justin Collins, Aaralyn Walters, Aaron Walters, Arianna Walters; a sister, Yvette Betancourt and her husband David; nephew David Betancourt and his wife Amanda, Niece Zariah Jones, niece Danielle Jones and her husband Antoine, niece Christina Betancourt, nephew Asa Betancourt, niece Francella LLonso and her husband Kevin, nephew Malachai LLonso, niece Yvette Betancourt and her uncle, Coleman Smith.
So many lives were touched with her generosity and passion for life. Come join us in the celebration of her life at Mountain Top Ministries in Brodheadsville on Tuesday April 2. Viewing is from 3:30-5pm and then the Service will follow. Interment will be on Thursday at 2:00 PM in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY.
