Obituary for Sterling J. Scheller

Sterling J. Scheller, 89, of Jonas, passed away Wednesday, September 11 in Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Home, Kunkletown.

He was the loving husband of the late Ann (George) Scheller. They celebrated 56 years of marriage together before her passing in 2010.

Born in Kunkletown, he was the son of the late Dewey Scheller and the late Irene (Haydt) Scheller.

Sterling was an assembler for Mack Trucks in Allentown for sixteen years before retiring in 1987. Prior to that, he worked for Monroe County Dairy in McMichaels. He was a member of the Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club, and a member of the Polk Township Volunteer Fire Company. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served as a Corporal during the Korean Conflict. He will be deeply missed by all of his friends and family.

He is survived by three sons, Kim Scheller and his wife Nadine of Saylorsburg, Keith Scheller and his wife Roxanne of Saylorsburg, Kurt Scheller and his wife Janice of Jonas; a daughter-in-law, Maxine Scheller of Kresgeville; a brother, Norman Scheller and his wife Norma of Effort; two sisters, Eva Knecht of Effort, Dorothy Roth of Belvidere, NJ; five grandchildren, Krystal Oleksza and her husband Jesse of Nazareth, Erica Smith and her husband Jon of Jonas, Zachary Scheller and his wife Alexis of Effort, Mallory Scheller of Freemansburg, Brandon Scheller of Saylorsburg; and three great grandchildren, Connor, London, and Mila. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin D. Scheller.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Middle Creek Cemetery. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
