Verna M. Jacob, 97, of Stroudsburg, formerly of Chandler Estates IV in Wind Gap, passed away Sunday, September 19 in St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem.
She was the loving wife of the late John Jacob. They spent many wonderful years together before his passing in 1992.
Born in Saylorsburg, she was the daughter of the late William Faulstick and the late Gertie (Remmel) Faulstick.
She was a long-time member of Mt. Eaton Church in Saylorsburg.
Verna was a seamstress a several garment mills for most of her life. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for over ten years. She was also a member of the Pollyanas Women's Group for many years at Mt. Eaton Church. She was an avid crocheter who would make beautiful afghans as gifts for her family and friends. She also baked big, delicious pies that everyone loved. Most of all, she was devoted to her family, and was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.

She is survived by a son, Richard Jacob and his wife Martha of Tacoma, WA; a daughter, Sandra Lewis and her husband John of Sciota; a sister, Lillian Beers of Saylorsburg; three grandchildren, Kim Burris, Jessica Lewis, Travis Lewis and his wife Heather; and two great grandchildren, Addison and Hope. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 25 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Mt. Eaton Church in Saylorsburg. Church services will follow at 4:00 PM with Rev. Douglas Hayes and Rev. Richard Lieberman officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Eaton Cemetery.
