Obituary for Virgil M. Christman (Feller)

Virgil M. "Virgie" Christman, 100, of Gilbert passed away on Friday, June 24 in the Lehigh Valley Hospice House, East Stroudsburg.

She was the wife of the late Franklin E. Christman.

Born in Effort, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Anna (Martin) Feller.

Virgie worked in the cafeteria at Pleasant Valley High School in Brodheadsville for twenty-two years before retiring in 1987.

A very active member of the Effort United Methodist Church, she had been a Sunday School teacher, a choir member and a church board member at one time.She also worked at the West End Fair for years.

She is survived by her son, Frank Christman of Gilbert and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, William, Thiel, Kermit, Scott and Dale Feller.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 29 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. B. Kenneth Edward officiating. Burial will follow in Gilbert Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
