Obituary for Walter A. "Bud" Serfass

Walter A. "Bud" Serfass, 89, of Stroudsburg, passed away peacefully at home on July 12, 2021.

He was the loving and devoted companion of Patricia Ann Antonioli for 39 years.

Born in Brodheadsville, he was the son of the late Wallie Serfass and the late Ruth (Garren) Serfass.

Walter was the owner/operator of Walt's Auto Body for over forty years. He also enjoyed his time as a school bus driver, and was a former manager of the old West End Diner in Brodheadsville. He was a Korean War Army Veteran, and a member of the Pocono Community Church in Tobyhanna. Most of all, he was a loving and caring companion, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all of his friends and family.

In addition to his companion Pat and her extended family, he is survived by two sons, Marc Serfass and his wife Nancy of Basin, WY, Jonathan Serfass and his companion Darlene Yantz of Las Vegas, NV; two daughters, Vicki Hawk and her husband Brian of Coplay, Sheila Boyer and her husband Gene of Stroudsburg; three sisters, Delores Barthold of Bath, Jean Haydt of Jim Thorpe, Arlene Conklin of Brodheadsville; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Victoria, Ariana, Andrew, Matthew, Luke, Joshua, Catherine, Samantha; and seven great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Elda Serfass, Mary Rinker, Helen Ziegenfus, and four brothers, John, Marlin, Donald, and Robert Serfass.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 17 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM from the funeral home. Burial will follow in Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville.
