Obituary for Willie Mae Taylor (Walker)

Willie Mae Taylor of Effort, PA, the loving daughter of Mandy Lee Walker and the late Willie Green Walker was born on October 5, 1942. She was called home to be with the Lord on April 15, 2021.

Born in Aberdeen, Mississippi, she graduated from Shivers High School in 1963 and moved to New York shortly thereafter to accomplish a lifelong dream. She was married in 1965 and gave birth to three children-Erick Leroy Brown, Latrisia Johnson and the late Alphonso Brown. Her life was centered around being a mother.

After raising her children, she relocated to Pennsylvania, trained for and became a CNA at Brookmont Nursing Home until her retirement. She enjoyed fishing, barbeques, flea markets, spending time with her family and most of all, reading and studying her Bible. Mae will be remembered for many things, but most of all her love for family.

Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Taylor, son Alphonso Brown, sister, Vera Eckford, sister, Annie Lue Smith, brother Alfred Walker and father Willie Green Walker. She is survived by her son, Erick Leroy Brown, daughter Latrisia Jackson, mother Mandy Walker and sister Mattie Williams. A host of Grandchildren - Shantelle, Ashley, Arielle, Dominick, Erica, Jeremiah, Darrien, Erica, Darryl, Gustavier, Chanta (Chubby) and Cienna (CC). Son in law Daryl Johnson, daughter in law Yvonne Brown, brothers in law Alvin Williams and Horace Eckford, as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
