Emma M.  Bartholomew (Mosteller)
Emma Mabel (Mosteller) Bartholomew of Saylorsburg, who would have been 93 on March 21, 2015 passed away to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 14. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 21, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Carrie (Slutter) Mosteller. She was married to John Bartholomew and they celebrated their 68th anniversary, having been married on June 5, 1940. She and her beloved John were lifetime residents of Monroe County where they raised their two sons and daughter on their dairy farm located in Saylorsburg.

Emma was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sons, Clark Bartholomew Sr. and wife Jane of Canadensis and Dale Bartholomew and wife Barbara of Saylorsburg; her grandchildren, Clark Bartholmew Jr. and wife Trisha of Canadensis, Jeffri Bartholomew and wife Dawn of Saylorsburg, Cathy Feller and husband Brian of Brodheadsville, Walter Bartholomew of Saylorsburg, Staci Doran and husband Gene of Carteret, NJ and Matthew Trine of Saylorsburg. She enjoyed numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and her companion Ducky duck.

She was preceded in death by her husband John, her daughter Janice Bartholomew, brothers, Amos, Stewart, Owen and Kenneth Mosteller, a sister, Ethel Altemose and her companion and beloved dog Aveda.

Emma was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church in Saylorsburg for many years. She loved spending her time cooking, baking and feeding the many helping hands that helped take care of the farm. Gardening was another pastime favorite of hers. She will not only be missed by her beloved family but by each life she encountered.

Emma was a small woman in size but larger than life with her heart of gold. She was a loving woman who absolutely loved her grandchildren, which she helped raise and the many others that passed her doorstep each day.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 18 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville with Rev. Todd Glasmire officiating. Burial will be inn Custards Cemetery in Bartonsville. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
