John J. McDermott Jr., 68, of Blakeslee, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John and Florence (Cegielska) McDermott. He was married to Evelyn (McLaughlin) McDermott for 45 years.

John was in security most of his life, retiring from Lockheed Martin in Newtown, PA.

He was an avid movie buff and had a vast collection. He also was the published author of "The Great Little Movie Quiz Book."

He lived in Levittown, PA for 40 years. He recently retired and moved to the Poconos, where he enjoyed his days watching and feeding the wide array of wildlife.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, John and wife Shana of Bensalem, PA, Michael of Blakeslee and Daniel and wife Leigh Ann of Blakeslee; three brothers, Rick and wife Mary of PA, Robert of Texas and Brian and wife Wendy of PA; three grandchildren, Aidan, Emma and Riley and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements will be held privately.
