Lorraine M. Brong, 83, of Brodheadsville, died Thursday, May 7 in the Brookmont Health Care Center, Effort.

She was the wife of the late Carl F. Brong.

Born in Wind Gap, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Emma (Werner) Getz.

She had worked as a nurses aide at both Pleasant Valley Manor and Pocono Medical Center for eight years. She also played the organ and several area churches for many years.

Lorraine was a member of Zion United Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville.
She was an accomplished artist.

She is survived by a son, Michael Brong and his wife Jill of Bartonsville; a daughter, Linda Stephens and her husband Scott of Brodheadsville; three grandchildren, Kelly Brong and Laura and Catherine Stephens; a brother, Richard Getz and his wife Beverly of Wind Gap; a sister, Joanne Bortz and her husband Donald of Wind Gap and a brother-in-law, Robert Brong and his wife Isabel of Snydersville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 11 from Zion United Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville with Rev. Ann Melot officiating. Burial will be in Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville. A viewing will be held on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service in the church.
