Obituary for Edward J. Beers

Edward J. Beers, 69, of Albrightsville died Thursday, December 24 in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

He was the husband of Susan (Lovely) Beers. They had observed their 10th anniversary in July.

Born in Morristown, NJ, he was a son of the late Edward and Susan (Ohlarik) Beers.

He was a volunteer fireman with the Far Hills- Bedminster Fire Department in Bedminster, NJ for thirty five years. and later with Penn Forest Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2 in Albrightsville. He also did maintenance work for the Indian Mt. Lakes Development.

He loved to trout fish and to snow plow. He especially liked being amongst his many friends. He was a US Army veteran and a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Lake Harmony.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Melissa Beers and Jeanette Baus, both of Albrightsville; two sons, Edward Beers in NJ and Michael Beers; three stepsons, Brian Bloodgood in NY, Scott Bloodgood in MD and Glen Bloodgood in NJ and nine grandchildren, Alana Johnson, Shelby Beers, Stephanie Russo, Edward Baus, Michael Baus, Sean Bloodgood, Scott Bloodgood, Wesley Bloodgood and Katya Bloodgood..

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 30 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM from the Penn Forest Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2, 1507 Route 534 Albrightsville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Penn Forest Volunteer Fire Co. No 2, 1507 State Route 534, Albrightsville, PA 18210 or to Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Dept., 100 Miller Lane, Bedminster, NJ 07921.

The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, is in charge of arrangements.
