Mavis M. Wakefield, 84, of Albrightsville, died Sunday, January 10 in Gnaden Huetten Hospital, Lehighton.

She was the wife of the late Edmund Wakefield.

Born in Jamaica, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Mary(McPherson) Dallas.

She had worked as a CNA and caregiver in Jamaica and the Bahamas and here in the states in PA, FL and NY.

Mavis was an avid gardener and had excellent culinary skills. She was an accomplished singer and she had great people skills.

She was a member of the Seed of Faith Ministries in Jonas and was very involved in whatever church she belonged to, depending on where she was living at the time.

She is survived by a son, Wayne Wakefield of Albrightsville; a daughter, Pamela Wakefield of Albrightsville; a brother, Cecil Dallas in Jamaica; four grandchildren, Chan, Alesia, Rudeene and Ackeem as well as other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 9;30 AM on Saturday, January 16 from the Seed of Faith Ministries Church, 1087 Scenic Drive, Kunkletown, PA (Jonas) with Rev. Robert Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville. A viewing will be held on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 US 209 Brodheadsville and on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service from the church.
