Obituary for Gary Allen Hazen

Gary Allen Hazen, 65, a lifelong resident of Monroe County, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 24, 2016.
Born in East Stroudsburg on January 17, 1951, he was a son of Lorraine (Sweitzer) Hazen and the late Allen R. Hazen
Gary graduated from Pocono Mountain High School in 1968. There he met Noreen C. Price and they married in July of 1972. He attended Penn State University and graduated in 1972 with a Bachelors of Arts in Business. Upon graduation, Gary began working for Riley and Company, serving as a business advisor and Certified Public Accountant. He continued to do so until his retirement in 2015.
Gary served as a Sergeant in the National Guard. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman, with an extreme love of his German Shorthaired Pointers.
In addition to his mother, Gary is survived by his three children and 10 grandchildren, Matthew and Rachel Hazen along with Zachary, Joshua, and Jacob of Reeders; Rebecca Hazen and Gregory Borsuk along with Benjamin, Gabriel, Eva, and Isabella of Effort; and Daniel and Jill Hazen along with Leah, Mark, and Claire of McMichaels. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry and Jackie Hazen of Port Allegheny, PA and sister, Deborah and Joseph Martin of Stroudsburg. He was preceded in death by Noreen and his father, Allen Robert Hazen.
Private viewing services will be held at Kresge Funeral Home with a private burial in McMichaels Cemetery.
