At such a sad time, I'm chosing to remember some of the fun Mr. Zinkler added to my adolesent life...
As a teenager I remeber spending a lot of time with the Zinklers...
Mr. and Mrs. Zinkler had a big home on the hill with a large garden, some chickens, a dog named Silky and another named Lance, and a pig named Herbie (who lived just a little too close to the Meadowbrook Diner!)...
Whether my brothers and I were at the Zinklers, 'Big Chick' was in our freezer, or Dave and Carol were at our place...it was certain we were always having a lot of fun! And, even though Nancy wasn't around as much when I was there...she was always the 'cool' older sister...
Mr. and Mrs. Zinkler spent hours in their garden...I can remember a particularly gorgeous summer day when Mr. Zinkler and I were having a lively conversation; laughter erupted (as it so often did), and Mr. Zinkler began tossing rocks my way as I sprinted down the gravel driveway back home...laughing all the way!
Mr. Zinkler was smart, funny, and had a great laugh...I'll never forget that great part of my childhood and how lucky I was to have all the Zinklers as friends. God bless you all, Peggy Howarth
