Mary (Perez) Zapata, 83, of Wind Gap passed away on Sunday, April 27 in the Slate Belt Nursing and Rehab Center, Bangor.

She was the wife of the late Rudy Zapata.

Born in New York City on June 13, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Eusebio and Crucita (Melendez) Perez. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Steve Perez.

She is survived by her two daughters, Roxanne Odierno and her husband Ralph of Wind Gap, and MaryAnn DiBenedetto and her husband Joseph of Lake Worth, FL.; seven grandchildren; Dana Adams, Marina and Ralph Odierno Jr., Marissa, Danielle, Gianna, and Joseph DiBenedetto Jr.; and a great grandson Christopher Casey.

A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 30 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 30 from 2:00-4:00PM and 6:00-8:00PM. Internment will be in the Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville at the convenience of the family.
