June E. Hoagland, 89, of Effort passed away on Sunday, August 24 in the Brookmont Health Care Center in Effort.

She was the wife of the late Lester W. Hoagland. They had been married for over fifty years at the time of his death.

Born in Brodheadsville, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Minnie (Gearhart) Kresge.

She worked at Monroe County Co-Op Dairy after graduating from Chestnuthill High School in 1943 and then she worked as a homemaker.

She was a member of the McMichaels United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Robin Franke of Effort; two grandsons, Aaron Meixsell of Lehighton and Larry Hoagland of Bangor; a great granddaughter, Hayley Hoagland of Bangor and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Larry S. Hoagland and Barry Hoagland, by a sister, Doris Hoffner and by a nephew, Ray Hoffner.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 29 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. Edward Unangst officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will follow in Buena Vista Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Cremation will have taken place in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
