Obituary for Foster E. Green

Foster E. Green, 82, of Effort, died Wednesday, March 25 in the Brookmont Health Care Center, Effort.

Born in Kunkletown, he was a son of the late Clark and Beatrice (Borger) Green.

A graduate of Palmerton High School, Foster had worked for Penn DOT for twenty seven years before retiring.

He was a Korean War Army veteran, serving for two years and achieving the rank of PFC.

Foster loved farming, hunting and fishing. He especially loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was of the Lutheran faith.

He is survived by a brother, William Green of Kingston, NY; four sisters, Lorraine Smith of Walnutport, Shirley Hahn of Palmerton, Sylvia Behler of Northampton and Carolyn Koumaras of Carlsbad, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 30 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. Deborah Scheffey officiating. Burial will be in Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery in Trachsville. A viewing will be held on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
