Obituary for James E Cockrell

James E Cockrell
James E. Cockrell Jr., 28, of Effort, formerly of Alaska, passed away Sunday, August 5 in his home.

Born in Soldotna, AK, he was the loving son of James E. Cockrell Sr. and Lorri (Aspelund) Cockrell.

James was a 4th generation commercial fisherman as he enjoyed his time fishing in Bristol Bay, Alaska for several years. He enjoyed tinkering with engines and riding his 3 Wheeler in Naknek Beach, AK. His most admirable trait was his kindness and his ability to always lend a great ear for people that needed to talk and get things off their chest. He comforted people that were struggling in life and going through difficult challenges. If James could voice himself today, he would tell people that drugs are not worth dying for, but it is worth living for. I now leave behind a loving son without his father. James will be deeply missed by all of his friends and family. May he rest in peace.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a loving, sweet son, James Cockrell, and his son's mother, April Roginsky, both of Tobyhanna; a brother, Robert Cockrell of Arizona; a sister, Kreistal Anderson and husband Ryan of Montana; his grandparents, Alvin Aspelund, Bob and Kitty Cockrell; two nephews, Robbie and Wesley, and a niece, Kaitlin. He was preceded in death by his sister, Samantha Cockrell and his grandmother, Freda Aspelund.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.

Kresge Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
