Joseph T. Scaffidi Sr., 72, of Albrightsville died Tuesday, December 30 in the Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown.

Born December 18, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Sebastian and Grace (Turdo) Scaffidi.

He served in the United States Army for 31 years attaining the rank of Master Sergeant and retiring from the Army in 1995. He was a member of both the VFW and the American Legion.

He is survived by two sons, Marc J. Scaffidi and his wife Patricia of Effort and Joseph T. Scaffidi Jr. of Wall, NJ; three sisters, Nancy Foster of Tampa, FL, Josephine Hawkins in GA and Patricia Ber of Westmoreland City and two grandchildren, Joseph T. Scaffidi III and Julia Scaffidi.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, January 8 from Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 54 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville, PA with Rev. Job Foote officiating. Cremation will have taken place in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
