Wilbur G. Gougher, 84, of Stroudsburg, died Wednesday, August 20 in his home.

He was the companion of Jeannette Amy for 34 years.

Born in Eldred Township, he was the son of the late George W. and Ellen L (Borger) Gougher.

Wilbur worked most of his life as a supervisor for the R&R Toy Factory in Pen Argyl for over 25 years.

He was a US Army Veteran. He also was a member of the St. Matthews Church in Kunkletown.

In addition to his companion Jeannette, he is survived by four children, son Scott Gougher and wife Rollene of Danielsville, son Todd Gougher and his companion Yvone of Palmerton, daughter Cinda Haydt and husband Allen of Jim Thorpe, daughter Celia Andrews and husband Mike of Palmerton; brother Marlyn Gougher and wife Geneva of Millville, NJ, sister Ruth Rinker of Wind Gap, sister Grace Flysick of Lehighton, sister Velma Silfies of Kunkletown; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert and Walter Gougher.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 30 at 11:00 AM from Wind Gap Cemetery with Rev. David Felker officiating.. Cremation will take place in the H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.

The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, is in charge of arrangements.
